Home Brew Basics
Our first home brew class was set to take place today, March 7th. Our aim is to provide the best experience possible for our guests, with classes that are both educational and fun as well. Initially we planned on doing all classes and brewing in house, with guests instructors from local breweries such as Lagunitas. That plan has changed recently, as we are currently in partnership talks with a local Chicago brew club, that has had members move on to brew full time at several well known breweries. Working with this club will provide our guests with a much better experience, with members of the club on site to assist in brewing, and access to facilities that are more sophisticated than anything we could offer in house.
With the new relationship we are trying to forge, we have decided to push back the start date of our brew groups. In lieu of the first full hands on class, TONIGHT we are offering an informational session with a brewer from Lagunitas Brewing. Here you will learn some of the much needed basic information to brew. This ranges from equipment, to hops and grains, beer styles, steps in brewing, and everything in between. This is a free event and is aimed at imparting some knowledge to those that may be green in the ways brewing.
Check out our website and facebook often, for updates on the group. Join our brew club mailing list by submitting an email through the contact section of the home page, and use "Brew Club" in the subject line. As more details are released, and as events are scheduled in the future, we will make sure you are the first to know.
We are very excited about this potential partnership and making this a long running event. Thank you for showing interest and don't forget to sign up for the email list.
